The Protestants got their prosperity gospel, what’s for the Catholic? Need help.

Well, the prosperity gospel isn’t true, as far as I know. It’s just put forward as a way for some Protestant leaders to encourage their members to give more money to their church.

There are different patron saints for different lines of business.

This information is readily available on line and on paper… Eg., St. Luke is the patron for surgeons and butchers, St. Fiacre is the patron for cab drivers and hemorrhoid sufferers.

Addressing the topic for this post. I once wanted to start, or maybe contribute to the idea of a society of Catholic businessmen. I had some ideas that might link it to the Knights of Columbus, or at least a co-operative working relationship ith the K of C. Looking for a name for the organization I was envisioning, I took a Catholic source book recommended by a member of the clergy and looked up the patron saint of businessmen. The name of the saint I found was… get this … drum roll please… Homobonus. Uh, the project died a quick death right there . I figured recruiting businessmen to the Homobonus society was too much of an uphill battle 😉😀

Oh well …
