Can venial sin hurt Novenas? On Sunday I will be starting the Novena to Our Lady of Success to help me find a spouse. I used to suffer from a sexual addiction, but I have come a long way from that. I have given up masturbation and deleted all the porn from my hardrive. The only problem is, sometimes when I am bored, I look at non-pornographic pictures of fashion models. I don’t do it nearly as much as I used to though. Every time I catch myself doing it I pray for forgiveness.
Do you think that Mary and the saints will still hear me and help me in spite of this? I believe that being in a relationship would help me be even less motivated to look at those things. Since I’m kind of asking for something that would ease my addiction, will they still help me anyway?
