Do novena’s have to be said aloud to obtain the graces of an intention?
 
I don’t think so, but if you SING them, you get double points. 😃
 
I joking about the double points, of course. But one saint did say that singing was like praying twice.

That’s only because they never heard me sing before. IF they had, they would never have considered making such a comment. 😃

Imagine the sound of a bullfrog mixed in with fingernails on a chalk board.
 
So, I take it that they do not have to be said aloud? What if you forget a day? I’m new at this.

Not good. Shows you LACK of perserverance for what you are praying for and a Novena is done specifically to SHOW your perserverance in prayer for a certain time period – 9 hours, 9 days, 9 weeks, 27 days (three sets of 9), etc.

If I missed a day because I forgot, I would start the novena all over again. If I missed it for other reasons, it would depend on how valid that reason was.
