Anyone know when the new “Novus Ordo” Mass will be implemented? The one that is getting overhauled with the new words?
Probably not for awhile. The liberal bishops of the US have to attack it first and try to get it stopped. Then they will eventually give up and allow us to have beautiful translations instead of banal and often inaccurate paraphrases.Anyone know when the new “Novus Ordo” Mass will be implemented? I’ve heard that too. But then again I also heard that about a year or a year and a half ago.Last I heard was that it was 1 or 2 years off.
I heard on of the proposed translations about a year ago. It had a lot of older sounding phrases inserted and went back to using relative clauses (a great improvement) but the effect was rather like trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. They need to start from scratchThey finished the preliminary translation, but all the modernists and libs are trying to make the language more “pastoral.” You can read the CWNews article on it here.
Probably not for another 50 years from now when I am dead!!. And then I hope to be attending a Heavenly Liturgy with the Holy Saints, Holy Angels, and Holy Archangels.:angel1:Anyone know when the new “Novus Ordo” Mass will be implemented? The one that is getting overhauled with the new words?
A new Novus Ordo? How did I miss this?Anyone know when the new “Novus Ordo” Mass will be implemented? The one that is getting overhauled with the new words?
My understanding is that it isn’t new. It is simply a more literal translation. It will probably clarify certain aspects of the rite as well.A new Novus Ordo? How did I miss this?
OOOOOOO, that makes senseMy understanding is that it isn’t new. It is simply a more literal translation. It will probably clarify certain aspects of the rite as well.
A more *accurate *new translation. That’s it. It’s not a “new” Novus Ordo, but a new translation.
