I wan’t the Catholic answer to this, are we saved with works, or by faith or by Gods grace? I have just heard so many different answers.
Read chapter VII and VIIIYou are SAVED by Grace. You are JUSTIFIED by works.
:bible1: James 2:24 You see then a man is justified by his works and not by faith only.
To briefly summarize the answers given above, it’s not a matter of either/or, but instead of all of those things. The “either/or” was the result of Luther’s fevered mind misinterpreting St. Paul, and that fateful misinterpretation has now carried on for centuries. A Catholic must always be firm in resisting this false belief.I wan’t the Catholic answer to this, are we saved with works, or by faith or by Gods grace?
You can be saved by what you believe, but you can be damned by what you do or fail to do.I wan’t the Catholic answer to this, are we saved with works, or by faith or by Gods grace? I have just heard so many different answers.
This is a point worth emphasizing. The passage that comes to mind is Romans 6:23:You can be saved by what you believe, but you can be damned by what you do or fail to do.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
