Great news! They’re on the rise all over. From some of the happenings in Germany of late it seems as though they could use even more of them.

Woohoo! :extrahappy:

Hopefully that trend will come about where I live!

How far away are you from the Arlington diocese?

As far as Germany goes, it seems the German bishops were the most adamant against the B16’s motu proprio if I remember right.

Also in Germany they have no problem having religious statues all over public spaces. I was amazed to see the crucifix and Mary at the foot of the cross statues. They have statues of Mary affixed to buildings . Just beautiful. And we are supposed to be the free ones over here and we are not allowed to do the same? Shame on us is all I can say.

I’ll bet there are still parishes here discouraging the offering of the EF Mass. I know mine is not interested in it at all. Another shame.

I think it’s not so much an issue when a parish doesn’t want to promote the TLM so much as when a bishop doesn’t, especially for hermeneutic-of-discontinuity reasons.

I do love the areas of Germany that always remained Catholic. In the mountains of Bavaria you can find crosses and beautiful crucifixes everywhere.

Years ago my son was in the Army JAG Corps and was stationed in Fulda which is the seat of the Catholic Church in Germany --he was there when the wall came down (but that is another story). At any rate, they had Mass on the Army Post but it was in a chapel they shared with other denominations. I preferred to go to Mass at the Cathedral downtown – don’t believe it was a TLM Mass – it was in German and I didn’t understand a word of it but it was absolutely beautiful!!! Also a fabulous men’s choir.
