Angel7, if I were to burst out laughing in the middle of my prayer because something funny or even stupid happened, I would share it with Jesus in the same way I would share it with my best friend, because He is my best friend. Prayer doesn’t have to be solemn all the time. “Jesus, can You believe what just happened??” 😃 :rotfl:

thanks that really helps 🙂

From what I’ve read on the forum, it does sound as though you’re being scrupulous. Other posters are right. It sounds as though your parents are aware of your scrupulosity, and are trying to help you.

Next time you go to confession, tell your confessor that you think you’re experiencing scrupulosity.

Or should I wait and talk to my parents to convince them to let me go 1 more time.
The anxiety of this moment is scary.
I’m sorry, Angel7, but I’m having a very difficult time trying to figure out why your parents are keeping you for the sacrament of reconciliation. Would you be able to share the reason with us? It is quite baffling! If you are in the state of mortal sin, you must get to confession at your earliest opportunity. If you are in the state of mortal sin, not only have you severed your relationship with God, but you cannot receive His graces until you are absolved. It is urgent that you take care of this immediately. Never delay reconciliation when you have reasonable access to the sacrament and are in the state of mortal sin.

If your parents are truly keeping you from the sacraments, say an Act of Contrition and a prayer for your parents!

Well somewhere else in the thread she mentions that what she thought was a mortal sin was laughing during prayer at something that distracted her. It seems as though she suffers from scruples and perhaps her parents are trying to keep her from going obsessively.

Or perhaps her parents are like mine and are against Catholicism 🤷, but I think it is actually the former.

If I have the oppurtunity to go To Confession (and I believe I am in a state of mortal sin) Am I obliged to go?

The situation is that, Since I think I commited a mortal sin, I feel compelled to go. but My parents don’t allow me to go to Confession often. I have a 2 1/2 hour window in which I could secretely go to Confession, although I get anxiety by thinking about it.

Do I have to make this leap? Or can I wait for the next time they allow me to go, which could be months off.
Jesus is the only moderator between us and God. Tell God you love Him and that you are sorry for sinning and ask Him to forgive you. Ask it in Jesus’ name and He’ll forgive you. Accept Christ into your life and put your faith on Him…no one else.

My parents aren’t aware of my scurples (That’s what I think)
They just think I’m becoming too Religious.
I’ve gone to Confession many times, they thinks its not normal.
They limit me to two Confessiosn per year!
but my mom is a bit more lenient and has allowed me to go a few more times. (recently)

I think it is because they do not want me to become so centered on Religion. But it’s my greatest interest. (Well, I try to make Religion my greatest interest)

We should ALL be centered on Religion. God is to be the most important thing.

Thank you, this really does help, I feel I can be scrupulous at times.
Like for Instance, whenever someone speaks (or writes), The Lord’s Name.

Or The Name Of A Saint. Or Speaks of anything religious,

I feel compelled to show Reverence,

(like in a salute, or bow type of way) I feel this is scrupulous, but Then I think that If I don’t do these things I am not showing enough respect or Reverence.

I assume I’m scrupulous here to right?
Scrupulosity and possibly obsessive compulsive disorder is what you suffer from. You are not alone. I am in that haunted place too. I will pray for you. We need healing grace here.

Thanks, We all have our different struggles.

For me, I have multiple problems, some of my past difficulties also seem to be coming back.

One of my deepest concerns is sloth.
Over the months I’ve noted how I decline, I’m not praying like I used to. I only try to keep the bare minimum now. I’m not proud of it, I want to do more, but I just don’t feel like it.
Can somebody help me deal with that?

while this issue here is very likely scrupulosity, remember that many adults were taught only to go to confession annually and rationalized a great deal of serious sins away out of convenience. Monthly (and perhaps even weekly) confession for venial sins is not necessarily scrupulous - making sins out of non-sinful behavior is.

I just don’t see what the “non-sinful behavior” is.
How do I tell the difference?
