Hi. Does anyone here know if there are any OCDS communities in west Texas?

I did find the OCDS map for the Western district that shows all the communities in their area, but it stops at NM. But I can’t find any information of communities in my area.

Where abouts in West Texas are you? I think there are some in the Diocese of San Angelo. The Archdiocese of San Antonio has a monastery of the cloistered nuns. The Discalced Carmelite monks are in charge of the National Shrine of the Little Flower in San Antonio. Also the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus are active, and run a daycare in San Antonio. You can also check out the Diocese of Lubbock and Amarillo for the Carmelites as well.

This reply is almost a year late, so I hope you have already found your answers.

There are three provinces in the USA for the Secular Carmelites (OCDS).
The map you mentioned is for the OCDS of the California-Arizona Province of St. Joseph.

Texas belongs to the (Oklahoma) Province of St. Therese. There main page is thereseocds.org but it doesn’t have the nice map that the western province has. If you look under Links, it has contacts for 2 communities in Texas. I have found that if I googled OCDS Texas, I have found more.

Hope this helps.
