Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ!!!

Sorry but I didn’t know where to post this…

I’ve been digging around on this site a bit, and feel sort of out of touch… ok… not sort of… really out of touch with some terminology out there…

question is… are there a couple of “cheater” books that I can read through to brush up on this stuff…

what I am looking for in particular are books about certain tradtional practices (I’m kinda “new school” hoping to become “old school” catholic)…hint hint: look at my previous thread “priest blessing…”

hmmm… did that make sense? Praying for an answer…

Thanks mucho for your help…

The Angelus Press carries the (in my opinion) best available 1962 Missal on the market. In addition to all of the daily mass Propers, it is also a handbook of Catholic living, as most missals were back then. In it you will find full, simple to understand (Confirmation age level) discussions and lessons on the basics of the Faith. There are also forms and instructions for all of the Sacraments. There are tons of traditional prayers and devotions as well. There is much, much more that I can’t possibly list it all.

Basically - find yourself a traditional 1962 or earlier daily missal. Again, I highly recommend the Angelus Press version as being the most comprehensive.

Once you’ve become acquainted with this content, I would recommend finding old prayer books. You can always find some on ebay. I have a small collection of prayer books I collected off ebay called the “Key to Heaven.” They are wonderful!
