I was looking up scripture to help someone on this forum. They had a question about Ex22,18.
When I looked this up in:
Douay(1941) it read “Wizards thou shalt not suffer to live”.
NIV it read “You must not allow a sorceress to live”. Pretty much the same as Douay. No problem so far.
When I looked it up in NAB “Anyone who lies with an animal shall be put to death”. Ex 22,17 (NAB) talks about the sorceress. Odd.
Why is NAB off by one?
Also in the New Testament(NAB) when Jesus says “Why have you foresaken me?” it is referring to ps22, but in Douay it isn’t ps22 but ps21 instead. Why the difference in verse and chapter numbers?
All help appreciated. Thank you and peace to you
