Your frustration comes across strongly. I’m only reading words on a screen, so maybe you don’t mean to come across that way at all.
I am frustrated, but my frustration is from what I assume is a lot of miscommunication and hurt feelings on both sides getting in the way of us actually understanding each other. I’m also frustrated because I really don’t like this friction/conflict between us [trads and non-trads] because it gets in the way of us learning from each other and from that, learning how to be better Catholics. And finally, I’m frustrated because prior to the **** I went through in Iraq I was a rather good communicator but now I have problems not pissing people off because I can’t get a handle on my emotions when discussing stuff dear to my heart [and you can’t find something much dearer to my heart then the Church].
I don’t mean to belittle or insult traditionalists, or for that matter anyone. It apparently just comes across that way. I’m doing my best to fix it. That’s one of the reasons a lot of my posts are so wordy, have words that basically mean the same thing grouped together [see friction/conflict], and are full of me trying to explain what I mean [see [see…] for an example].
All I’ve been trying to get across this afternoon and tonight is-
-Ohana wasn’t trying to be dishonest or a jerk
-There are non-trad jerks that pick on trads
-There are trad jerks that pick on/vent/are hostile to non-trads
-Both groups of jerks cause problems for all the non-jerks in both groups
-Both groups of non-jerks need to correct/police the jerks
-They need to do so in a manner that won’t alienate non-jerks
-Trad non-jerks need to “grow a thicker skin” and figure out if non-trads posting questions/comments are jerks or non-jerks before responding
-And now that I know there was an issue in the past, non-trad non-jerks [like me] need to be careful of how we post questions/comments because of the “bad blood” created by the non-trad jerks in the past
As to the “as defined/approved by the Church” in my other post, that wasn’t me slighting trads. That was me, who is still mostly uneducated on traditionalism and even less so on the where the SSPX falls in regards to traditionalism, trying to take what I assumed was a safe way of defining traditionalism [if the Church says it’s ok, then it’s ok regardless if I completely understand it or not]. “When in doubt do what the Platoon Sergeant is doing” [When in doubt, trust what the Church says].
