What is the story of the image that we know as Our Lady of Perpetual Help?
I haven’t been able to find it online any where, but years ago, some one pointed me to the image and the details: the child Jesus was running, and that’s why His shoe is off… the angels are Michael and Gabriel (why not Raphael?) … The BV Mother is looking at us… there is a story about this, right?
If there is a story, where can I find it? What about the story behind Veronica wiping the face of Jesus (I was shocked
to learn it wasn’t scriptural!) What about the image of St. Christopher, and why he is shown carrying Christ on his back?
I know that I have loads of questions like this, so if some one could point me to a source, or a few sources, I would be ever so grateful!
