Old World or New World

I still don’t understand.

Something that is billions of years old is older than something that is 6000 years old, right? Then why do you say New World means billions of year old and Old World means only 5-6,000 years?

I think I don’t know; I wasn’t there. Though, surely, “New World” is based on a literal reading of the begats in the Bible? 😉
 
that would be a science question, not a TC question, and we don’t have a science forum so I guess you would have to move this to back fence

Yes, it’s predominately a Protestant belief, however I was wondering what people here thought.

Well, since you ask, I believe neither.

Billions just sounds too large, but I equally think some of the numbering in the Bible is a bit skewiff.

I honestly try to believe them both at the same time. This of course is doublethink. However I really am not sure what is true. I was hoping this thread would spark a debate, but I guess not.
