I was reading on line about the issue of older vocations and thought “how wonderful”. I even read about already divorced men going through the discernment process, getting annulments and so on.

I just thought that was so neat. You probably get men who are no longer concerned about what they may be missing since they happen to have experienced it and have come to a point in their life where they know God is calling them to the Priesthood and service. What a great second half of life and a blessing that with careful discernment that is possible!

There is a priest in my diocese who was ordained about 3 years ago. He spoke at my church when he was still in seminary. He was married and had children, then got a divorce and annulment. He remarried, and his wife died. He decided to become a priest. He has grandchildren.

Look at Paul…he was older…and Father Corapi…I think he was in his late 40’s…

Very inspiring (Fr. Corapi’s story). Who knows…maybe down the road if it is God’s will I will make the swim across the Tiber. I am trying to listen to that “still small voice”… 🙂

Pray often… I notice you seem to seek out what we Catholics believe with an open heart.

Aw…great blessings to you, Rev North. With God, all things are possible. Don’t let others’ voices drown out God’s.🙂
