There is an…online documentary, shall we call it, that is all over my newsfeed on FB about female satisfaction during intercourse. The goal of the secular “project” is to educate men and women toward the goal of increasing female orgasm during sexual intercourse. My understanding is that it is graphic and explicit, and includes “interactive tools”. My question is: would it be morally permissible for a Catholic couple, within the context of a life-giving marriage between two people who are following Holy Mother Church’s teaching on conjugal love, to participate in this in order to improve their experience of the marrital embrace? I am thinking particularly of JPII’s Love and Responsibility, which says that the man and woman’s pleasure should be parallel and simultaneous, if possible (it has been a number of years since I read the text, I hope I am not misquoting).

There are obvious dangers, and also the opportunity for an objective good for the couple.

Please take this intimate question up with your pastor, not strangers on the internet.

Ok. We go to a parish with over 10,000 families, so my pastor does not have time for even all the true family emergencies that there are, much less hypothetical questions such as these. But I get it, I’ll delete the thread, if I can figure out how 🙂

Too late to delete now…there’s only a small window of time to edit. Please also note that Catholics don’t say or use om(!)

I don’t necessarily understand the conflict. Stick with JP2 and you’ll be fine. Sexual pleasure should be experienced within the marital embrace, not outside it (e.g. self stimulation alone without your spouse), and be open to life.

Agree with you. This entire forum could shut down tomorrow with a giant message “GO ASK YOUR PASTOR” and have similar results.
