So essentially you’re asking how those answers could possibly be answered without Christ right? For fun, just imagine that Christ was a myth and never actually existed or at least wasn’t divine. Taking that as truth just for fun, then consider that pain, the suffering of the innocent, and death all still exist and thus must still have answers regarding them. They just might not be the answers you want them to be.

Without Christ there are two possibililities: Death and the suffering of the innocent are due to natural causes or they are caused by an evil power. In neither case is there a satisfactory solution to the problem of injustice and futility…
