On Mary

I attend a traditional parish that offers the EF once on Sundays and on other Holydays, the rest of the time all the Masses are OF.

The only times Mary is mentiioned is during the Creed, Confeitor and the Eucharistic prayers along with other saints.

I do wonder where these parishes are that seem to be focused on the BVM and not our Lord. I have attended many different parishes and have never, except in Masses where we are celebrating one of her holydays is she mentioned outside of these prayers.

We do offer the Rosary during the week, if one wishes to attend.

Speaking with my fellow Catholics, I have never heard any of them mention the BVM, except at times one might mention asking her to ask her Son to help me in the time of need, as others devotional prayers to other saints have also been recommended.

Mary is mentioned many more times in some of the Orthodox liturgies, as they like Catholics have a great love for Jesus’ mother.

When one makes these claims about the Church devoting more time to the BVM, they should be able to name the parishes and the incident where Mary is placed above our Lord.

Private devotions are just that. I have also noticed that in some protestant churches I have never heard any praise being directed to the Holy Spirit, only to Jesus. Does this mean that they don’t consider the Holy Spirit God, the third Person of the Holy Trinity?

Catholics give worship only to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit in every Mass.

No one forces anyone to ask any of the saints to intercede for them. It gets tiresome having to defend the Churches love for Mary and the saints.

Yours in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary

Bernadette
