On probation at work, may lose job within next few months, with new wife

Hi everyone,

As the title reads…my wife and I got married recently, and I cancelled an appointment for chemical birth control (I don’t intend to use any either). I want our marriage to be open to life.

But…my current job is in jeopardy. Within the next few months I may lose it and we would have to move in with my aunt. I don’t know for sure what will happen with any of this (conceiving a kid or not, losing a job or not, etc.).

I’m saving up a big portion of my paycheck monthly and paying down credit card debt to less than $1000 to prepare…

Any advice? God bless…

That’s a very good start. If you haven’t already, I’d suggest familiarizing yourself with the job market in your area. And not only in the field in which you currently work – keep an open mind. You may not want to start putting in applications yet, but it would be good to know what’s out there.

Or, you might want to make a job move before they have a chance to let you go. It doesn’t hurt to see what is out there. You might even find something you are more suited to.

I think you releave yourself and see a little positivity around all this mess.

First, you are not currently jobless, and can look around what is available and try to find another job as others said.

And you have a solution if you have to left your home. You can move to your aunt, and it is far better than being afraid of going on the streets. To live temporary with an extend family member is not a shame, even if you may have a child, even if it can not be easy for everyone to find their place and for the marriage dynamic.

Your attitude of saving money is wise.
