Give money to save dogs and cats- save the veterans- save the kids- st. Jude hospital- gospel rescue mission .save the homeless.

Do you respond to these charitable missions?
And how does it make you feel.?
Do you just change the TV channel?

Do you sometimes go numb? And shut down?

TV entreaties for “charity” are by and large ripoffs.

If I want to give to a charity, I can easily write a check out to the Little Sisters of the Poor, donate online through Missio.org, or use my diocesan website to find charities to give to. Or I can give to a gofundme run by a reputable person, I can donate to several animal rescues run by my friends, or to a large charity I trust like Catholic Charities or the Salvation Army. I don’t have to give to “charities” that are apparently well-off enough to pay for an infomercial.

I ignore emotional manipulation by charities. i understand why they do it, but it is a huge turnoff whether it’s on TV or in my junk mail. I wish the USA had a law to prevent the sending of junk mail because unfortunately, when I give to any charity, even a religious order, I get ten snail mails from them and several other charities, and it is a waste of paper and I do not want to receive it, but the US won’t do anything about this because junk mail is helping to keep the mail system in business.
