I was wondering why there is only one baptism for sins? I want to say that I remeber reading something in the bible once years ago on the issue but, I can’t remeber what (and if it acctually exists or if it was just a figment of my imagination). Any help? Thanks and God bless.

Rom6:3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
There is only one because you only need to be received into the Church once. Many things happen during Baptism, not just clearing your sins, but other things which enable us to live a more perfect Christian life, these are never lost. More can be read at this page of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Also, Eph4:
4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call, 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism

My translation is different.
One body and one Spirit; as you are called in one hope of your calling. One Lord, one faith, one baptism. One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in us all. But to every one of us is given grace, according to the measure of the giving of Christ
I actually do not understand your phrase “one baptism for sins”.

Please explain.

There is one baptism in Christ’s church. Christ called the apostles to baptise all nations in the name of the Father and Son and of the Holy Ghost. By this baptism, we belong to the true Church of God. Christ’s church here on earth is His mystical body. We are given grace by the sacraments and we are united with all members of the catholic church, as we have Christ as our Head. When St Paul says that Christ is in us all, that is when we are baptised, the Blessed Trinity dwells within us. If you are catholic, you will be familiar with the expression that we are temples of the Holy Ghost.
