see One grateful priest | The Manila Times
Really, there is not much that I have done to distinguish me from other priests. But it is one of my firmest convictions — both personal and theological — that the priesthood is not about what one does, but about what one is… When a priest is ordained, the bishop (and representative of the Church and its apostolic succession) lays his hands on the candidate — and that says it all. … The priest is made, in his heart, the bearer of the image of Jesus, the Lord, the Servant, the Son. This is what makes me extremely grateful.
