But I fear this man might have already discerned the other vocation. haha
Ha ha ha :rotfl:

You know, there was this guy in college that I got to be really, really good friends with. He tried (unsuccessfully) to get the rudiments of electromagnetism and calculus into my skull. We started spending scads of time together, talking about meaning-of-life stuff, religion, abortion (we met in the pro-life group) etc.

I started to become very interested in this fellow romantically, but couldn’t get a read on whether it was mutual or not. Then, once or twice, he let slip comments like, “You know, sometimes I wonder if I’m supposed to be a priest.”

Skipping ahead a bit, we’ve now been married for fifteen years and have eight children. He’s grayer and balder, I’m fatter and starting to get some lines around the eyes, but we’re still best buds.

Moral of the story: just keep going with the friendship thing and see how it all works out. Turns out, he was sorta wondering about the priest thing, but only in the broader context of pondering, “What is God calling me to?” Turned out to be marriage… 👍

I am going with the friendship thing and just letting God take control. I don’t want to rush into anything at all.

Though one of our chaplains asked me today if we were dating, because she noticed that we spend a lot of time together and I was like, “No, we’re not, we’re just friends.” She still teased me about him though. And another friend wondered if we knew each other beforehand and my roommates would tease me because we’d always be chatting (sometimes, late into the night) and were like, “Ooooh!”

It’s funny because this same chaplain had speculated earlier that maybe he had a crush on me and one of my teammates thought I had a crush on him too.

Lol, I always end up good friends with a guy and without fail, I get asked if we’re dating, if I like him, if he likes me and I’m just like, no, we’re friends and that’s it. And no one believes me, lol

Update: he invited me to spend New Years Eve with him! (outside of school, he actually lives close to home) This is the first time someone has asked me to spend New Years Eve with them! I’m excited!

I’m new the this forum and was just reading this thread and realized the date…and wondering how things were today??? Well, you just answered…how sweet!!! Sounds like something very special! Have a wonderful time tomorrow and Happy New Year!

On a humorous note, you will know things are getting serious if you then start going to the gym together to work off all that Italian food!

But seriously, I’m glad to hear stories like this.

Thank you:) Haha, I do end up getting a work out though because he always gives me a run for my money! I know, terrible joke:p He felt bad that I had no one to spend New Year’s Eve with and neither did he (we live in small towns), so he asked me to come up! He’s definitely a doll:)
