Does anyone know if there remains a source of the Theology of the Body audiences of St JP II on the internet? It seems much of the English versions are not on the Vatican site. I lot of other links I have found, eg the USCCB site, all point to the EWTN library and are dead links. I have the book at home, but need to look up a couple of things, but alas I am not at home. And although my book is a better translation than what used to be online, it use to help to do searches online to find the correct place in the book.

I know of a site with Papal Encyclicals, and I thought it would have it, and it has a link…to the dead EWTN link. Good luck.

Yea, I have found lots of the dead EWTN links. And the Vatican page with the audience transcripts is missing most of the English translations. IIRC, they used to all be there. I wonder what happened.

I used to read them on EWTN. They’re gone now? 😦

Adding. I just looked, the website looks entirely different. I can find articles about, but not the original text.

All of John Paul II’s Wednesday audiences are available here. The catecheses on the Theology of the Body were given between Sept. 5, 1979 and Nov. 28, 1984. Hope that helps.

But one the Vatican website the English translations are missing for almost all but the first few of the audiences. Am I missing something?

Like I said, all but the first few of the audiences are missing. From 1980 on, the English translations seem to be missing (unless there is something weird about my browser going on).

Sorry. Misunderstood you there. Not sure what the deal is then?..

No problem, I certainly expected them to be there. But I will admit its been quite a while since I had access them, and my memory may be faulty, perhaps I had found them at a different point. OTOH, I had a friend who just last year was reading them all online. Oh well, I am about to run by the house and will just use the book I have there.
But if anyone knows where they can be accessed, please chime in, it may help in the future.

If you have access to the Waldstein translation, it’s much better.

I was interested in taking the University of Dallas’ TOB course online but it’s only offered in Spanish this year. I’m looking for appropriate resources to include with my 7th grade Religion class. Christopher West, maybe?

Thanks for this! So beautifully written, and theologically robust. I’m long overdue to read them all.

Ruah Woods has developed an entire TOB curriculum for K through High School. Check it out:

Hey thanks Phillip! Just forwarded that link to my principal.

Glad to help! Any little ways we can help spread the Theology of the Body are worth it.

Yes! It seems there may be some who would like to see it go away…
