My 13 1/2 year old son really wants this video game. It’s a role playing game that’s rated Teen - he said it’s harmless & all his friends play (like I care?). Two Moms who are fairly strict have gotten it for their teens & say it’s OK. Is anyone familar w/ this popular game? Thank you. (He wants me to stress that it’s Sims 1 not 2)

My wife really enjoys all the Sim games. They are fun and moderately addicting.

I’m not sure about the specifics of each release (there are Sims 1 & 2 and tons of expansion packs), but generally the questionable content is restricted to Sims sleeping in the same bed (no sex), and sims going the bathroom and stripping for a shower (they are blurred out in a funny way).

My son is only 3 months old, but if he were 13, I’d probably let him play it, for what that’s worth.

Male and female sims in love will sleep in the same bed together if a double-bed is available. Of course there is no obligation on the player to provide them with a double bed. Put two singles in different rooms and they won’t sleep together.

in the expansion packs, you can order your sims to have sex. It is also very easy to create homo- and bisexual relationships.

But unless you actively try to do these things, they will not happen.
