The interview that the link took me to was an interesting one and, like you say, John Allen seems to be presenting a fair and well-balanced presentation of Opus Dei. I would be interested in reading his book.

I heard John Allen on Al Kresta a few weeks back, the book sounds interesting and I may buy it.

Based upon the interviews I have read/heard with John Allen on this topic, coupled with my own experience and assessment of OD, I would say that he has provided an honest and balanced presentation which should serve as a valuable critique for both OD and it’s detractors.

Wow, that is one of the best and most insightful reads I have seen on some of these topics concerning the Church’s contemporary difficulties!
