Oral sex linked to cancer

Stockholm - Certain cases of mouth cancer appear to be caused by a virus that can be contracted during oral sex, media reported here on Wednesday, quoting a new Swedish study.

People who contract a high-risk variety of the human papilloma virus, HPV, during oral sex are more likely to fall ill with mouth cancer, according to a study conducted at the Malmoe University Faculty of Odontology in southern Sweden.

Good to see you again Alan - weren’t you on a break? Anyway, when I saw this I was amazed yet again at just how there are consequences to actions that are opposed to God’s will.

The secular culture is embracing this activity as “safe sex”, and no doubt these findings will be covered up or explained away through questionable studies as much as the link between HPV and cervical cancer in women, or the link with breast cancer, premature birth and contraception/abortion.

Yes, was there for a while. Technically I’ve been back for a couple months but haven’t been as much posting. Probably it is good – it broke the obsessive cycle. Then again, “good” is subjective and judgmental.

I’ll tell them about “safe sex” – that would be monogamous non-preeverted sex within marriage.

This from a person who has suffered spiritually, emotionally, and physically from not following the advice above, so of course I’m open to charges of being hypocritical or wishing to deny others freedom I “enjoyed.” I am open to those charges, but they are baseless so I’m not concerned – in my mind I am about warning and not limiting or judging.

Good thing the past is in the past. I wish I could leave it there better sometimes.

I suppose asking what nonperverted sex is would be stretching the decency of this thread.

It could, and I have my own opinions, but just for safety since “nonperverted” is in fact judgmental and subjective, then it’s probably a matter of “faith and morals” so as a first order approximation I will default to whatever the Church says about it.

Even though I don’t claim strict “orthodoxy” at least as viewed by some others who do claim such, this is an area where Church teachings will save lives, not take them according to popular belief. (Not to mention the possibility of saving souls.)
