St. Norbert – memorial, June 6 – was a contemporary of St. Bernard the Cistercian. While the Cistercians were monks, the Norbertines were Canons Regular, but there were still influences on the latter from the former. Although Wikipedia has its shortcomings, this article has good links at the end:

They run a very nice abbey not far from me. I stop over for Mass sometimes.

Their Tehachapi Canonesses are close to my heart. I had worked to bring European Canonesses to the States, but nobody could make a new foundation. I threw up my hands and told the Lord that He would have to find five women who would start this. That’s what happened.
