has anyone heard of this order? i did some looking on their website and it seems that they are a seperate church that only accepts articles of faith that are from the apostles. are they considered heretical?
i was just wondering because i was doing a search and their webpage linked to a prayer that i was searching for. They are non-Catholics, is the only way to put it. According to their website, they are “a resting-place for discontented Roman Catholics who were not prepared to join the Church of England.” As to doctrine:
Neither does the Grail Church accept the doctrines of the Immaculate Conception (1854) and the Corporeal Assumption of Mary (1950) as Articles of Faith necessary to salvation. Neither dogma is explicitly contained in Holy Writ.
By rejecting those dogmas, they place themselves outside the Catholic Church. I just poked around for a minute, and it looks like they claim some kind of alleged episcopal “succession” through the (so-called) Old Catholics, who aspostatized and rejected the First Vatican Council and now are running around ordaining women and so on.
Judging from their homepage, which looks like a 15 year old girl designed it on Geocities in 1996, I would guess they are pretty much a farce. And if you like, you can read more about Sean Manchester, their founder and “Superior General,” at the blog Journal of a Vampirologist.
Ah. I was hoping you weren’t . . . um, thinking of joining or something.i was just wondering because i was doing a search and their webpage linked to a prayer that i was searching for.
