What are the traditions regarding the different Oriental Catholic Churches for Exorcism. Thanks!

Isn’t it the same with the rest of the world? I thought the Catholic church is universal?
“Oriental Catholic Churches” here means those churches in communion with Rome whose liturgical, spiritual, and cultural patrimony is from the East–i.e. the Greek (Byzantine), Antiochene, Alexandrian, Chaldean, and Armenian traditions. Yes, the Church is universal, but because the faith was spread all over the world–and not just to the western Roman Empire–different traditions emerged, all perfectly legitimate expressions of the Faith.

Oh I see, thanks…

I don’t know how close the Oriental Churches are to the Orthodox Church on this issue, but I can try to answer you to the best of my ability from an Orthodox standpoint. In Orthodoxy every person who is baptised has been exorcised. There is an exorcism performed on the person, and the water prior to baptism. Now, if you are asking what are the tradtitions of exorcising a person who may be demonically posessed. I am not sure. I have never seen, nor even read what might happen in this case.

I’m sure all of them have it within their tradition, but on youtube, the copts seem to have the most media coverage. I was wondering if amongst the orientals, there is an elaborate exorcism rite like in the Roman Ritual or if they are more a series of stand alone prayers like in the Byzantine?

Thanks!
