I can remember reading somewhere that there were 5(?) effects of Original Sin:
  1. Loss of Original Holiness and Original Justice (i.e. Original Sin itself)
  2. Emnity with God (i.e. Loss of fellowship with God)
  3. Concupiscence (i.e. Weakening of the will towards passions and desires/tendency towards sin)
  4. Darkening of the Intellect (i.e. Thoughts are warped and twisted)
  5. Physical Corruption (i.e. We get sick and hurt, then we die)
I can’t for the life of me remember where I read this. Does this look familiar to anyone? If so, is this a correct listing/description of each effect?

Probably a version of the Baltimore Catechism!

There are many different versions. I own one of them with pictures and the famous “Baltimore Catechism No. 4” which has lengthly explanations of each question and answer.

Strongly suggest the Baltimore Catechism!!!

I don’t think “weakening of the will” is considered concupiscence, but perhaps I’m wrong. I think it needs its own #. 🙂
(Concupiscence is the disorder in our appetites/desires – which can incline us to sin.)

Also think #1 & #2 are often combined into just one.
