Origins of famous sacred images

I’m very curious about the artists and authors of some famous sacred images of saints. In particular, I am interested to know about the identities of artists who have painted those popular and traditional images of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (i.e. those which you can find randomly on Google).

Are there books on the history of Sacred Art?

N.B. I only know the name of the artist who painted the Divine Mercy image…

If you look on the art on Google images, sometimes it will reference a page that may state the identity of the artist.
Alternately, there are many books on Sacred Art. Check your library.
