A joint Catholic-Orthodox theological commission has approved a statement on the primacy in Church history.

I would be interested in reading the actual text of the statement and the registered objections on some of its wording. Primacy seems to have already been agreed upon in general, though. It’s “supremacy” that seems to be the stopper. Still, if we can work out the nuances . . .

Our current Pope is a real bridge builder in every sense of the term. I think if it’s going to happen it will occur under his watch.
