Dear Friends in Christ - a long time friend, who is a nominal Jewish woman has told me she has accepted Jesus into her life. I have congratulated her and told her that the next step is to call the nearest orthodox Roman Catholic Church in her area. Since I am not in Florida, I am asking anyone who is familiar with the area to let me know if they know of a good orthodox church in St. Petersburg.

Thank you. God Bless

If you meant you were looking for a Catholic Church that used the 1962 Missal - then the previous post is sufficient.

If you meant “orthodox” by being in union with Rome and the Local Diocese. Then there are many fine parishes in St. Petersburgh, Florida.

There is a Very Good Catholic Radio Station for her to listen to.

The churches I posted ARE under Rome under guidance by the local Bishop and Pope John Paul II’s Ecclesia Dei. One of them is the Cathedral of St. Pete where the Traditional Mass takes place in a chapel there.

I posted those locations to me based on this assumption. There is technically, no “orthodox” church - we only precieve to define such churches this way based on looks of the church, how they celebrate Mass, etc. To me “orthodox” means a church celebrating mass under the 1962 missal with permission from the local Bishop.

My apologies.
I was not trying to say that your recommendation was erroneous.
I was trying to give a larger answer.

She didn’t ask about the 1962 Missal or the Tridentine Mass.
“orthodox” may have only meant to her that she was seaching for a “faithful” Parish that don’t Teach “liberalism”.

I am glad that you posted your information. It inspired me to find some Tridentine 1962 MIssal Masses in my own area.

I found 2 and may visit them soon.

Thanks.
