From what I know of Bishop Gumbleton, he already spends far too much time making a name for himself around the world. I have seen little done to keep him “under control”.

However, since John Kerry lost the election and Proposal 2 passed in Michigan, I have been happy to see the absence of his disgusting editorial letters in the Free Press.
Well, just image what damage he could do if he didn’t have a parish to run and no responsibilites in Detroit at all.

I honestly think the best possible thing would be for him to be called to Rome and give a very time consuming, but invisible post there where he can be watched.

Maybe Bishop in charge of votive candle inventory.

how about Mount Athos to be ecumenical with those monks there. Those monks are Orthodox you know and many are traditionalist Orthodox… So that would be nice. Abp.Bugnini[designer of the Novus Ordo Mass] was sent to Iran as leader of the Catholics there[apostolic vicar]. I think he only said Mass once or twice in his three year exile there.

I have been in correspondence with Cardinal Maida over the last few months in regards to Bishop Gumbleton via letter.

My first letter to him asked him if he was aware of certain groups and articles he was associated with and or wrote. He replied and stated he was unaware of any possible scandelous things said or written by the Bishop. He then asked for specifics. So I put together a list of articles with dates and times of appearances by the Bishop which was pretty detailed. Cardinal Maida replied and did not touch on anything other then he appreciated my letter and we must “pray for all with in the Church…”

I was very cordial and polite but I let him know that his sheep are concerned both about our diocease and his leadership. After his last reply I was unimpressed with him, I just pray his heart can be changed and our next Bishop when ever that may be will make some radical changes.

Anyone in the Detroit diocease needs to write him and let him know how we feel.

You are my new hero. Have you received an answer? Cardinal Maida sure won’t rock the boat. He certainly isn’t known for his control over his diocese.

Also tell the Archbishop to increase the number of Traditional Latin Masses in Detroit, possibly making 5-1000 Traditional Masses in Detroit per Sunday

Yes I have, as stated above, maybe not real clear, he did not address any of the issues I brought up . It was very discouraging. I am writing to him again and will tell him I was not happy as a devout member of the diocease with his answer. I will let you know if I get anywhere.

On a side note, the parish Father Ricardo took over, was that a very liberal parish? Anyone know? If so how is he doing?

I’ve spoken with Fr. Rafferty, his associate, and even though it’s a complete turnaround for the parish, they’re doing okay.

On a very happy note, our friend, Fr. Bustamante has been assigned to Assumption Grotto effective January 5!👍

Assumption Grotto is one of my favorite churches, I don’t know Fr. Bustamante very well but it sounds like that will be a great fit for him. I’m very happy for him.

Sue, I have heard this is not the only diocese that has this problem, I can tell you from experience that if you are orthodox the seminaries dont want you at all and you will not be ordained, I am suprised they had the fortitude to get this far. I hate to say this, but I think that within the next 5 to 10 years all who love the faith and tradition will be going to St Pius X or St Pius V chapels because the church does not want us, we do not fit into their plans for the One World Religion, and worshiping of the same God that Our Holy Father is even talking about. Dont forget he was very liberal before he became Pope, as was Pope Paul VI as was John XXIII. For the past 40 years we have had a steady decline in the faith because of these men, who I Love and are my leader, but what do we expect of his Priests? They are a reflection of their leader. I as well as other Conservative parishoners have been printing out flyers and handing them out after mass as well as going to other churches in the area informing them of what is going on, the beauty and the history of the sacrements and the traditional mass and what is going on and what is being destroyed behind their backs because many really dont even know. Many people dont know their faith, and dont even know there was a traditional mass that lasted for 19 centuries and that the sacrments were changed, that the blood curse was lifted to appease the Jews, that the seminaries are only allowing liberal and or Gays to be ordained to push through the agenda of Vatican II (and we are all paying for this, as our money in the collection basket no longer goes to the poor but to pay off children abused by these pedophiles). We must take back our Church or else.
Detroit Sue:
The newest trend in our Archdiocese is for liberal ( for lack of a better word ) priests are rejecting the newly ordained and candidates for the priesthood for their orthdoxy. The assignment board is assigning orthodox, inexperienced priests to some of the most flaming liberal pastors. Their intent is to break them. The ones that won’t break are having their reputations dragged through the mud.

There was a meeting called “The Elephant in the Sanctuary” a couple of months ago. This meeting and “plan” was drawn up by Bp. Thomas Gumbleton. Our famous protester. He has a lot of time on his hands, galavanting all over the world to partake in demonstrations. The orthodox priests are being accused of being “rigid” and wanting to go back to Pre-Vatican II practices.

This is all true. This is no rumor. I personally know 2 of the priests/candidates who are suffering at the hands of this liberal Episcopate. Other clergy have proudly announced that they attended the elephant show, and doggone it, it’s time to bring the Church into the 21 century.

Please pray for our priests. They need all the graces they can get to rise above the cesspool that our archdiocese is rapidly becoming.
