Has anyone here read or used these? I can’t seem to find much info on them online. Fr. Lawrence Farley seems to be a trusted source but I was shopping for someone to comment on the content of them. Are they worth the additional cost to supplement the study Bible (they aren’t cheap, and sadly only NT coverage no OT)?

there is an old testament version now,had for a long time but now in english

Whats it called? The website package of 13 books only contains the new testament

what i have is called The Orthodox Study Bible 2008 St Athanasius Academy .It contains both old and new testament with small commentaries. I have been doing some study and they make some pretty convincing arguments about the unity of the church. Looking into the history its not as simple as Upon this Rock, etc… there were councils that decided church dogma, never was their one infallible bishop, that came much later and when you study the filloque dogma and the immaculate conception as well you start to see a different picture. This has been my HONEST struggle. I am not trying to be argumentative, many respond in a snotty wayand start getting overly emotional. I just want to be a little more clear. As Catholics we have no problem in addressing the way the protestant church divides all the time, and rightfully so,it should be addressed, our lord prayed that we be one. But ive noticed with the orthodox arguments they get fuzzy and all i hear is Upon this Rock,Orthodox do see peter as a first of apostles but never as a absolute leader, kind of like a prototype of bishop. Seemed Good to the holy spirit and US in the acts was a model of how the counsels should go and it was that way for many centuries. If you can shed some light on some of these divisive teachings please let me know. I am open, but if it gets nasty then we should just let it be. Thx

I was talking about the companion series to the study Bible. They are book by book more in depth analysis of the material.

This link to Fr. Farley’s page on the Ancient Faith Radio website shows the commentaries (which you can buy) that OP is talking about.

Hopefully, someone else will be familiar with these studies. They look very interesting but I haven’t read them and can’t comment.

Perhaps OP would do better if he posts this question on an Eastern Orthodox forum?
