OSAS ....What reformer is it linked to?

I was wondering which reformer “started” or promoted the doctrine of once saved, always saved?

And around what date did it start to take off?
 
I believe the doctrine developed from the teachings of Jean Cauvin, aka John Calvin. But, as usual, I could be very wrong.
