OT quote/misquote

I found this in the news-

"Nancy Pelosi’s lost Biblical verse

"Apparently, it’s a favorite verse of hers. She has used it in official statements on global warming, the budget, Martin Luther King Day, Christmas, and why she’s a Democrat. Jim Hoft has audio chronicles.

Dr. Claude Mariottini, an Old Testament scholar, noted on his blog last year and this year that no such Biblical verse exists.

CNS News asked other Bible scholars for the source of the quote in the Old Testament that Nancy Pelosi keeps invoking.

They can’t find it either.

Can you?"

What do you think? Is her take on the OT correct? Are we required to to be “green”. Is being “green” and act of worship that is required according to God in the OT? Or does she misunderstand the verse?
 
Maybe this passage :

*Micah 6:6-8 “With what shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?” He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God. *

Perhaps she includes taking care of God’s creation (earth) as part of “justice”. :confused:
Of course, God’s creation includes people as well as the physical universe.

Another passage that came to mind is in Mt 12:9-14 (regarding taking a sheep out of a pit on the Sabbath). But that’s from the NT, not the OT.

I’m running out of time to edit, so will just start a new post.

At the beginning of creation, when God is going to create man, He says:
Gen. 1:25-26 “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, …and over all the earth, …”

After creating Adam:
Gen 2:15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it.

We do have a responsibility to care for God’s creation, but “caring for” does not equal “worship”.

I think Nancy Pelosi needs to spend more time worshiping God and less time worshiping nature. She may claim to worship God (of course, only when talking to the “right” audience), but her actions express a worship of nature.
 
Here is the source of the “quote” which, as the source shows, was never a quote to begin with, but a paraphrase. But the book of Isaiah doesn’t even come close to saying what she says it does.
“As Members of Congress, to truly show our children that we mean it when we say that we all know that everything in nature is connected and it’s important to maintain the balance of the web of life. In the book of Isaiah, in the Old Testament, we are told that to minister to the needs of God’s creation, and that includes our beautiful environment, is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.”
