WHAT???

Think it time I became a Protestant
Did you read what came after that???
Did you read that SDA, like Catholics believe in the Trinity?
Did you read that SDA, like Catholics believe in Christ’s divinity?
Did you read that SDA, like Catholics believe in the virgin birth?
Did you read that SDA, like Catholics believe in the atonement?
Did you read that SDA, like Catholics believe in a physical resurrection of the dead?
Did you read that SDA, like Catholics believe in Christ’s Second Coming?

All of things are Catholic Doctrine right???

I don’t want to derail the thread, so we will leave it at that… A NEW thread can be started if need!!!
(If any one feels that a new thread should be started on this point feel free to do so)

To the OP: I have been looking around at some SDA sites, I know that they have high regard for prayer. I just can’t find anything that said if they use the “Lord’s Prayer”. If I find something I’ll let you know.

God Bless.

Who is Papa Doc? Did he ever hear of Jesus?
“Papa Doc” Duvalier, President For Life of Haiti.
Died in 1971 or '72.
He actually believed himself to BE Jesus at times.
A very odd man.
Typical politician:D

I believe that one thing which holds all of us Christians together whether Catholic, Methodist, Baptist or Free Holiness in the Our Father which as far as I know is prayed by practicing members of almost all Christian churches. Do you know if the SDA and JW and Mormons also pray the Our Father? I would be curious as to how they feel about it.

While I was Baptist I was never encouraged to say the Lord’s Prayer. Repetitious prayer was strongly discouraged. I was told that the Jesus’ words was meant as a format to teach Christians how to pray, not as an actual prayer.

Of course individual Baptists churches probably have different believes.

We were taught it at the Baptist church I attended as a child and recited it in sunday school as well as during the service. Of course that was in the 70’s and things could be different now.

My wife is a non-denominational Christian. Her take on the Our Father is that Jesus told us to “pray like this” (that is to pray but not to use the literal words) and NOT “pray this way” (using the literal words) as the NAB has it.

That is the thought that I was trying to convey in my post. I probably did a bad job though.
