Our Lady of Einsiedeln

Yesterday was the feast of Our Lady of Einsiedeln, a feast of particular importance to one of our local Benedictine communities, St. Meinrad Archabbey.

In (belated) honor of the day, I thought I’d share this story of St. Meinrad and Our Lady “of the Dark Forest”.

Prince of Peace Abbey here in Southern California, a daughter house of St. Meinrad Archabbey, also traces its origin back to Einsiedeln.
