Hello everyone,

I decided to post here because I believed I would get the best response.

I’m having some trouble with Our Lady of Fatima- a lot of the predictions don’t seem to add up.

For example, OLF predicted that WWI would end on October 19, 1918, when in reality it ended November 11, 1918. In a book I has on OLF, it claims WWI really did end on October 19 (without backing up the claim), when all secular sources I see place the end at the November date.

In addition, OLF predicted WWII would break out in the reign of Pope Pius XI, despite the fact it broke out in the early days of the reign of Pius XII.

Please help!

Not that I’'m trying to push Fatima, but the Japanese invaded Manchuria during the reign of Pius XI, so perhaps you could say that WW2 really began then, though conventionally it is dated from the invasion of Poland.

And then, from America’s viewpoint, it began on 7 December 1941.

Let me see if I can help. Nowhere in the APPROVED books on Fatima does Our Lady state that the war would end on a specified date. What the approved books say is that Our Lady said on October 13, 1917 is that the War will end soon.

Regarding WW2, its a little more complicated. Pope Pius XI died in 1938. While most people identify WW2 starting on Sept. 1, 1939 when Germany invaded Poland, a convincing argument was made that the War was started when Austria was annexed in 1938 during Pius XI reign. Think about the movie Sound of Music. You could see how Germany was preparing for the war YEARS before that.

Hope that helps
