At the risk of being legalistic–the Our Lady of Guadalupe Novena says it starts on December 3. I’ve never heard of a novena that is meant only to be started on a specific day. I think even the Divine Mercy novena can be said any time of year, right?

Does it matter if the Our Lady of Guadalupe novena is done outside of December? Are there some special graces associated with doing it in December?

Mostly just curious.

Her feast day is December 12, so it makes sense that the novena would begin nine days prior to it. Of course, all novenas may be done outside of a particular feast, according to one’s devotion.

Thanks. I did see her feast day was Dec 12. I just don’t recall seeing many or any other novenas saying to start on a particular day.
