Often just before the Notre Dame football team comes out on the field the Priest will pray. “Our Lady of Victory - PRAY FOR US, Amen”.

Do you think “OUR LADY OF VICTORY” originated in the 1500s when a Catholic Navy defeated the great Muslim Navy in the Eastern Seas near Greece ?
 
I think this is another good example of mythologizing.
