Catholic Church Investigating ‘Weeping’ Virgin Mary as Possible Miracle

The month of May is ending. I found this news helpful in my prayers. What if Our Lady is weeping at the sad state our world is in currently? Ireland legalizing abortion, following other countries in enacting laws that violate the sanctity of marriage between man and woman and the dignity of human life from conception to natural death.

The world population surpasses 7 billion, perhaps even exceeding the total number of people who lived up to several centuries ago. Yet, at the peak of the world population, so many people have been turning away from God. So many souls being lost each day.

Is this the world Our Lord has redeemed with his blood? Was his sacrifice in vain?

It is not surprising that Mother Mary weeps.

Perhaps our generation earned this sad state for we have been too lukewarm. Many times we have turned away from God ourselves. We deserve to be forsaken.

But Mary? Her heart is torn and sorrowful. Her eyes in tears! She, the Queen of Heaven. The most humble creature. Our Mother most pure. She who has been sinless. She accompanied our Lord from his birth to the foot of the Cross with unwavering fidelity. She does not deserve to be heartbroken.

Let us ask the Lord, then: we do not deserve your graces. We do not deserve to be redeemed. But for the sake of Holy Mother Mary, undo the works of the devil and rescue us from the mire of sin. We need you more than ever. If not for our sake, then for our Mother who weeps, please hear us.

Evil has existed even before humans were created.

Remember God is supreme and out of evil good comes eventually even though we can most times not see this.

Otherwise evil would have no purpose.
[Dont misunderstand, I am not saying evil is good, merely that it has a purpose we do not understand most of the time]

TRUST IN GOD.

She is depicted weeping figurally, too.

Our Lady of La Salette

I called my mon today… said she is as happy as can be… it’s her birthday! Love her - she is awesome!!

Our Lady of La Salette actually was sobbing when she appeared.

I always wonder why the two visionaries of that apparition both seemed to have gone off the rails rather than staying relatively holy like St. Bernadette

I don’t think life was easy for the visionaries of Lourdes, Fatima or La Salette. It seems fortunate that two of the three Fatima kids died young. Controversy persists for the survivors, well not so much in St. Bernadette’s case especially since her body was found to be incorrupt. Melanie (La Salette), Sister Lucia (Fatima) and St. Bernadette all seemed to have wanted to hide away in convents. The common controversies seems that secrets told them by Our Lady were forwarded to Bishops and warnings were not heeded. These were innocent children hounded by people and mistrusted, sadly by those in the church that should have.

Maybe they couldn’t handle the stresses of fame.
Maybe they had some inherent weakness.
We’ve seen devoted people “derail” in our time, like Fr Corapi.
But it does make you wonder.
And it’s also a cautionary tale not to get too complacent 🕊️

Our Lord wept for Jerusalem and for Lazarus. In like manner, Our Lady weeps because of sin and death. The King and the Queen Mother feel sadness because they love us and don’t want to lose us to to Devil. Our Mother visited her poor children many times last century and pleaded for repentance. But her requests mostly fell on deaf ears.

It is interesting to see where the visionaries of the various apparitions ended up.
I can definitely see why the spiritual advisors to Bernadette and Sister Lucia wanted them in a convent.

But some of the other lesser known visionaries just got married and lived relatively quiet lives. I think it was Mariette Beco, who saw Our Lady of Banneux, who said that she herself wasn’t important and compared herself to the postman delivering the mail message from Our Lady - she said once the mail was received, the postman was no longer important.

I love that perspective! I’ll have to look her up and her vision.

Banneux is one of the major apparitions approved by the Vatican, but it and Our Lady of Beauraing do not get the attention of Fatima and Lourdes. Someone suggested on here that it is because the Belgian localities did not put the money into promoting the apparition sites like Fatima and Lourdes did.
