I teach 2nd grade Sunday School.

A lot of the private schools in Atlanta are Christian but not Catholic, and most of the kids in my class attend these schools. So they are getting a Christian education but not a Catholic education. Hence the PSR classes.

Yesterday we were learning from our Bibles. Of course, as we all know, the Catholic Bible is different. We’re talking about that in class.

One girl says and I quote:

Mrs. Sears, the Catholic Bible has more pages than the Bible in my school. I think it is because Catholics are smarter, and all of the other people aren’t smart enough for the extra pages so they have a shorter book. It is easier for them to understand the smaller version. Like a children’s book, and the Catholic Bible is the big kids’ book. God made Catholics smarter.

Oh the strength it took not to laugh.

I had to write it down right after she said it.

You know…to post it here. 😃

Out of the mouths of babes :yup:

LOL–I laughed out loud reading that for real, mrssears.😃 I love it. That is a new way to look at it. lol Might send that in to Scott Hahn for any debates he might get into…probably an argument for the faith he hadn’t thought of yet. lol

Can you see Scott Hahn vs. Steve Hays and saying those lines… “…and if a child can recognize that!”

This is way too funny. I’m going to forward that to my best friend… he’s Lutheran!😃

Makes ya think kids have it all over adults sometimes when it comes to explaining/defending our faith. My then 6 y/o GD went to a christian, not Catholic , school. The subject of Baptism came up and Chloe’ very proudly said she was being baptized that Saturday. Her classmates said " You can’t! You aren’t old enough" With hands on her hips she replied" Oh yes I can. Catholics get baptized when they are babies. Only my mommy forgot"
