We have no excuse in not becoming saints…there is a false humility which says " I 'll never be good enough to be a saint and even if I try is to be self-righteous." Well…of course you’re not good enough but neither is anyone else…that’s where you need to get out of your own way and let the Holy Spirit work on you!

How does a person get over his or her habitual sin and become holy? It seems the sins that easily entangle me are almost indestructible. I suppose fasting would be in order. That’s a hurtle in and of itself. I tell you, acquiring holiness is not easy.
That is a good question which is an easy one to answer.

And the answer is…Jesus. Pursue him, love him, go to him, sit as his feet, picture him, talk to him, be with him, be moved by him, kiss him, consecrate your whole being to him, walk with him in his sufferings, recognize him when he calls to you from someone who is in need, bless him, thank him, adore him, look at him, know his presence within in you, ask him for mercy and his love, say often “I love you”.

Do this and he will teach you in your heart and fill you with his love and show you the shortcuts.

May God bless and keep you. May God’s face shine on you. May God be kind to you and give you peace.

I believe the most important thing you can do to get over an habitual sin is to be very humble and very trusting in God for His saving assistance. God bless you.
