Is there a good defense against Frank Viola’s book "Pagan Christianity? I go to a non denominational house church but was raised Catholic and that book influanced my decision, but I feel guilty for leaving the Catholic Church and want to know if what is in the book can be rebuked.

Really, the greatest way to refute this book is to take a look at its premise. Its basic claim is that if something isn’t in the Bible, then it’s worthless. Where in the Bible does it say that the Bible is the only authority? It doesn’t - not anywhere. Going from there, all you have to do is look at the claims made in this book, one by one (as some of the reviewers in the link above do.) You’ll find that like Boettner’s Roman Catholicism, Pagan Christianity is rife with bad research, bad scholarship and outright lies.

It’s very sad that one book caused you to abandon the immense treasure of the Catholic Church and the Sacraments. Innumerable Catholics books remain unread by you dear soul? Yet you allow one to seduce you?
The Catholic Church is the church of Jesus Christ, son of the living God.

I have never read it, but if you want to research the contents truthfully, get a small catechism of the Catholic church a bible and compare notes from each. The catechism will help you research the scriptures and their meanings compared to Church doctrine from scripture. Then you will see the difference of one mans misinformed interpretation of the 2000 year old Catholic church compared to a 21st century biblical interpretation that twists the scriptures into different meanings outside the biblical text.

Just a recommendation. Please research your baptised Catholic faith first from the Catholic church herself, dont take an outsiders twisted view of the body of Jesus Christ in his Cathoilc church.

Feeling Guilty for leaving should tell you something and that is the Holy Spirit wants you to come back home. But then again we all have a free will, choose wisely!
