My diocese is holding a youth retreat, and as we would like a larger group, we want something that will attract teens. Seeing as its a religious convention, would it be wrong to have a paintball game?
That really isn’t up to any of us. Talk to the diocesan youth ministry director about ideas. My diocese is holding a youth retreat, and as we would like a larger group, we want something that will attract teens. Seeing as its a religious convention, would it be wrong to have a paintball game?
Not to mention liability issues…That really isn’t up to any of us. Talk to the diocesan youth ministry director about ideas.
There are many reasons this idea sounds impractical, although I get what your are trying to accomplish. It depends on if this is a retreat that has a solemn tone, is supposed to be reflective with Mass, confession, prayer time, etc… or if it is more of a youth rally type event. It also greatly depends on where it is being held as I doubt many retreat centers would allow paint ball. And if you have many people I would think that would get logistically complicated and expensive. Also paintball doesn’t appeal to a broad audience.
Perhaps games that are more easily played by people of all skills and interests, like volleyball, kickball, softball, flag football, or games that can be played like Pictionary or other board games would be better choices,
…like laser tagA paintball game would surely be an attraction for its addicts like me. But I guess it has not become too much popular yet. May be you should take an advice from more people for choosing a better game. You may try some other less risky game.
When I was a teenager many years ago, I would have been scared of that game. You’d need other games for those who aren’t risk-takers.My diocese is holding a youth retreat, and as we would like a larger group, we want something that will attract teens.
