Hosanna everybody!

Have a great Palm Sunday and Holy Week.

It’s close. Besides, liturgy for it starts at 4:00 PM on Saturday anyhow. 🙂

I think the feast of the Annunciation falls on Palm Sunday this year.

They can’t be the same day, so this year, the Annunciation is moved to April 9.

I went last night (less than twelve hours ago). I wish it was warmer out. Palm Sunday is so magical when you’re not shivering outside.

Getting ready to go to Mass now. I’m doing the second reading.

Everybody have a blessed day!

✝️

I’m thurifor today for Mass. Little do the parishioners know how much incense will exist in the church. 😈

May this Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord be a blessing to all!

I was asked after Mass today to be a sponsor for a lady who will be baptised during the Easter vigil. 🌺

Palm Sunday is in the top 5 days for Mass attendance in the United States. The Free Palms are the big draw, almost as popular as the Free Ashes provide last month.

If you give things away, the people will come.

Noting like a little late notice 🙂

But, what an honor for you. Have a happy Holy Week

Our Palm Sunday mass was a new experience for me because our priest wanted the First Holy Communion Preparation children and parents to support the mass. It was challenging, but the Lord provided and the congregation had a new experience. We had adult readers (9 including Father) for the Gospel reading and the children brought up visual aids (jar, bag of money, bread, chalice, sword etc.) at the appropriate points, mimed the disciples falling asleep in the garden of Gethsemane and acted as the crowd. Basically a straight Gospel reading with visual aids provided by the children. Okay, I admit there weren’t 30+ disciples in the garden of Gethsemane but the children were keen.

The potential problem I see with this is children actually falling asleep instead of just pretending.

With their catechist’s beady eye on them the whole time and very clear instructions (and whispered reminders) plus some of their teachers being in the congregation, falling asleep would not be a good idea. I was right in front of them behind the font (a good supply of Holy Water to hand).
