A few things stood out to me in the Gospel that I would like a little clarification on if possible.

How did Jesus fulfill the scripture which says “He was counted among the wicked.”?

Why did one of his disciples ask Jesus if they should strike with a sword, and then strike anyway before Jesus replied?

Why was Jesus so brief in his answer when asked “Are you then the Son of God?” and he replies “You say that I am.” I don’t get where they ever said that, or is Jesus just saying "Look I’ve already told you I am, but you’ll never believe me?

What did Jesus mean when he tells Pilate “You say so.”? Like the last question, is Jesus just saying “Hey man, I am not the one who keeps bringing this up, so it’s obvious you already know the answer deep down”?

Sorry if this is a lot, but I’ve just never really thought about this before

How did Jesus fulfill the scripture which says “He was counted among the wicked.”?

It doesn’t mean that Jesus was, in fact, wicked, but that folks considered him as such. He died the death of a criminal – that is, He died the death of a wicked man.

Why did one of his disciples ask Jesus if they should strike with a sword, and then strike anyway before Jesus replied?

A couple of things come to mind. First off, it was a really tense situation. Ever been in a tight situation, and timely action seemed to be the best course of action?

Another thought is that one asked … and another struck. Two different reactions to an unexpected and scary situation.

Why was Jesus so brief in his answer when asked “Are you then the Son of God?” and he replies “You say that I am.” I don’t get where they ever said that

That was what they were attempting to claim was Jesus’ crime – that He was committing blasphemy. In other words, they were already saying that He was claiming it (unjustly), so He was challenging their question if they’d already decided it was truly a claim He’d made falsely.

, or is Jesus just saying "Look I’ve already told you I am, but you’ll never believe me?

That’s part of it… and it’s true, isn’t it? “If I tell you, you will not believe, and if I question, you will not respond”, indeed!

What did Jesus mean when he tells Pilate “You say so.”? Like the last question, is Jesus just saying “Hey man, I am not the one who keeps bringing this up, so it’s obvious you already know the answer deep down”?

It’s as if He’s saying, “ya’ll are the ones making that accusation. If you have authority over me, that implies you know the answer. So tell me, already, what you understand to be true.” Pilate follows with his answer: no, Jesus is not falsely claiming to be the King of the Jews.

Sorry if this is a lot, but I’ve just never really thought about this before
