Parallels between Genesis 1 and John 1

I can see some parallels between the Gospel of John and the creation story in Genesis, like “In the beginning was…” and “darkness and light…” but I’d really like to find a thorough commentary on it. Do you all have any sources, preferably online?

Catholic Scripture commentaries, especially with any type of depth are few and far between on the web. I suggest you invest in a couple of good commentaries like The Navarre Commentary on The Gospel of John, the Ignatius Bible Commentary on John, and/ or Steve Ray’s Gospel of John. No one commentary could possibly exhaust all the nuances of this profound passage, but well begun is half done.
